Limp Bizkit Mourns Loss of Bassist Sam Rivers at 48

The music world is mourning the unexpected loss of Sam Rivers, legendary bassist of rap-rock pioneers Limp Bizkit, who passed away at 48 years old. The band confirmed his death through an official statement released on October 18, 2025.

According to the official announcement, Rivers died from complications related to liver disease. The news has sent shockwaves through the rock and metal communities, with tributes pouring in from fans and fellow musicians worldwide.

“Sam was more than a bandmate – he was family,” the surviving members of Limp Bizkit stated. “His thunderous bass lines and magnetic stage presence helped define the sound of a generation. Our hearts are shattered.”
